VISA Requirements
A visa is required for citizens of countries and regions that do not have Visa Exemption Arrangements with Japan. ISSW31 participants should familiarize themselves with visa requirements, including the effective periods of documents submitted and issued, well in advance of the symposium. If it applies, the ISSW31 organizers encourage you to prepare for your visa as early as possible. Please contact the Embassy or Consulate General of Japan nearest you for more information and advice. The ISSW31 organizers CANNOT INTERVENE with Japanese Embassies abroad or the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Japan on behalf of any participant, however, may provide assistance for visa application. Please fill out
'DATA SHEET for VISA application'
form and send it to  by e-mail with "VISA application" as the subject.
The following documents will be prepared and sent to you by Express Mail Service (EMS).
- Letter of Invitation
- Letter of Reason for Invitation
- Letter of Guarantee (if necessary) only during the period of ISSW31
- Schedule of Stay in Japan
- Certificate of Employment of Symposium Chairperson

In order to issue the documents, you must be an author of an accepted abstract and finish paying your registration fee.
